TRE Architecture has a rich history of over 58 years, beginning in 1967 when Amato Teta established his architectural practice in San Diego after completing his studies at Carnegie Mellon University. The practice gained popularity through successful projects of all sizes, leading to many repeat clients. Allan Teta followed in his father's footsteps by graduating from the University of Southern California School of Architecture. After gaining broad experiences with other award-winning firms, Allan teamed up with his father in 2006 to launch Teta Architecture, Inc. After eight years of inspiring accomplishments, TRE Architecture was established in early 2014, poised to create a lasting impact in the field of architecture.

The meaning of TRE

Derived from the Italian translation of the number three, TRE is not only a meaningful term, but also a nod to the founder's Italian heritage. The number three has significant importance in the earliest known written work on the topic of architecture. According to the Roman architect Vitruvius, a well-designed building should fulfill the three principles of utilitas (commodity), firmitas (firmness), and venustas (delight).
